7 Great CIVIVI Knives

7 Great CIVIVI Knives

CIVIVI Knives, buoyed up by the enduring popularity of the Elementum, have really taken off in the past five years or so.

But their catalog, like that of so many other knifemakers, is full of options. So how do you pick the best ones?

One is to filter by top sellers, then look up reviews of those models. Another is to just take a quick look through a catalog that contains them.

Either way, the following 7 are all great CIVIVI knives, just be aware of the following; many of these knives are made in different configurations so the models highlighted are often just one option.

The Button-Lock Elementum

There are more versions of the Elementum than you could shake a stick at, but probably the best of them is the button-lock version.

Again, there are many configurations even just of this model, but the one with a Micarta handle and a 14C28N blade is a winner.

What’s cool about this button lock knife is that, unlike some other button locks, the lock locks the blade closed, so it won’t accidentally come open. The other cool thing is how fidget friendly the knife is.

The Fixed Elementum

If you love the button-lock Elementum but prefer to carry and use a fixed blade, CIVIVI has you covered with their fixed version of the Elementum.

The all-black version with G10 handle scales and a D2 blade is a great pick, although, again, you can take your pick here.

Vision FG

Again there are many configurations available here, but a good one is the one with dark green canvas micarta scales and a Nitro-V blade.

The Vision FG has a so-called “Super Lock” which is very strong and safe, and a highly utilitarian reverse tanto blade with a super-strong tip.

The Conspirator

It’s sort of plain, but at the same time its popularity speaks for it. The Conspirator features a drop-point blade profile, a button lock, and a generous choil design formed by the choil once the knife is opened.

Nitro-V and micarta is a good pairing, although again you could take your pick here.

The Baby Banter

Love the WE Knife Company Banter, but wish it was a bit smaller? Then get a CIVIVI Baby Banter. It has everything you like about the Banter but in a smaller package and it’s immensely popular. All of the ergonomics and features are the same, just shrunk down in size. Also, like the Banter, it’s available in a whole bunch of colors and configurations.

The CIVIVI Altus

Lastly, the CIVIVI Altus is a great knife. Not sure which one to get? Go with the button-lock configuration which has cuibortia wood scales and a nitro-V blade.

It’s tough, practical, handsome with its wood scales, and you’ll love the functionality, safety, and fidget-friendliness of the button lock.

CIVIVI Chevalier

Specifically, the one with Micarta scales and a 14C28N blade. In terms of materials and aesthetics, this pairing puts it on par with the Elementum button-lock and Conspirator model mentioned here.

But this one has an aggressively downturned sheepsfoot-style blade, which is great for use on the water as well as anywhere else you fear you’d stress a tip. In terms of blade profile, there are few CIVIVI knives with a tougher, more capable pattern than this one.
